The real world is far more amazing than anything you can make up!

In 2015, world famous percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, composer Jill Jarman and author Christopher Lloyd teamed up to ask and answer some simple questions.
 
How interconnected are the arts and the sciences? Can sounds tell a giant story through time? Could the amazing story of 10,000 years of scientific endeavour be captured in a score that would make sense as a giant historical narrative told entirely through music?

The result is The Sounds of Science - a  21-minute orchestral percussion concerto / soundscape that features 100 moments from the first stone age tools and the crackling of ancient fires to modern inventions from the typewriter to the bicycle and the internet to a supersonic car!
